Dentons’ Montréal office hosts a successful reception for the venture tech community
Dentons’ Montreal Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies practice group was proud to host its largest cocktail reception yet. Headed by the Region’s lead, partner Scott Rozansky, and associate Jacqueline Rowniak, 135 guests and 35 Dentons professionals attended this sold-out event to celebrate the vibrant and growing Montréal venture technology community.
With a focus on Fintech, guest speaker Cato Pastoll, CEO of Lending Loop, Canada’s first regulated peer-to-peer lending platform, highlighted his company’s two years of startup challenges to operate in Canada, and was quite complimentary of the role Dentons’ Venture Tech team played in helping his company overcome its regulatory issues. Cato is a leader in the industry and has contributed to successfully positioning Canada’s Fintech sector as one of the pioneers around the globe.
In addition to the many Dentons professionals from our Montréal office, guests at the event were impressed with the number of professionals in attendance from our offices in Ottawa, Toronto and Edmonton. “We were thrilled with the turnout at our event,” said Jacqueline. “It was a pleasure meeting so many innovative entrepreneurs and builders and the people and resources that support these individuals.”
“This is our third year hosting this event and we’re extremely pleased with its growth and the development of our Venture Tech team,” said Scott. “Having built some real momentum, 2017 is going to be a big year for our Venture Tech team, and I am excited to see where we can take it.”
