Matt Wanford

I specialize in general commercial and technology law and support Dentons’ Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies team based out of Ottawa, Canada. I have over 20 years of experience assisting a wide variety of clients from start-ups to multi-nationals, in many technology related matters involving a wide variety of technologies, so I understand what start-ups need to be successful and what their clients are looking for. I am passionate about supporting start-up clients on their growth journey, and I am fascinated by the founder mindset and understanding what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. I have practiced in England (London) and Canada (Alberta and Ontario).

In my spare time, I enjoy running, biking, and swimming, and I am an aspiring triathlete and sometimes golfer. I support my children’s sports through volunteering for hockey and skiing teams and a local youth organization. I am a mentor through a Law Society of Ontario program to other lawyers.
