Julien Bourgeois

As a corporate lawyer in Ottawa, I enjoy working in the start-up space as it is always filled with new and exciting ideas. As part of the Dentons Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies group, I assist founders and management with each aspect of establishing and operating a new company and business, including corporate governance and shareholder matters. However, my main area of focus and interest is assisting companies in connection with financing transactions to raise capital, through either debt or equity, in order to fund their growth and providing advice to founders with regards to strategic transactions including acquisitions and exits. I rely on my experience advising venture capital investors as well as strategic and private equity purchasers in order to provide practical and useful advice so that “legal” can be an asset to each founder’s business.

In my spare time, I enjoy snowboarding, running, riding my motorcycle and travelling abroad to discover new cultures and cuisines but on most Friday nights, you can find me relaxing at home with my wife and dog.
